Arrow West Acres is a first-generation egg farm nestled in the serene rural community of Edgewood, BC. Founded by Lacey Huolt, Arrow West Acres specializes in producing pasture-raised eggs, prioritizing animal welfare, sustainability, and community engagement. With almost three years of personal experience in raising chickens, Lacey is thrilled to embark on her inaugural season in business, sharing high-quality eggs with the Arrow Lakes region.
At Arrow West Acres, they believe in letting hens be hens. Their flock enjoys the freedom to roam on lush pastures, soaking up the sunlight and foraging for their natural diet of grass and bugs. This stress-free environment ensures that their hens lay eggs with vibrant yolks, rich flavor, and exceptional nutritional value.
Deeply committed to their local community, Arrow West Acres strives to be an integral part of it. Their eggs will be available at the Nakusp and Edgewood Farmer’s Markets, providing residents with access to fresh, ethically-produced food. Additionally, they have future plans to establish a farm stand on their property in Edgewood, further connecting with neighbors and customers.
The decision to establish Arrow West Acres stemmed from a profound shift in priorities during the pandemic. Faced with job loss and remote work opportunities, Lacey and her husband re-evaluated their lifestyle and values, ultimately choosing to embrace a homesteading lifestyle in rural BC. This transition allowed them to align their passion for animal welfare and environmental stewardship with their daily livelihood.
